Thanks so much for your kind words. The...Hey there. Thanks so much for your kind words. They mean a lot to me.

Unfortunately The Final Programme was only released once on DVD in a US Region 1 edition from the US arm of Anchor Bay. It's a really excellent DVD.

Now there's good and bad news.

The good news is that in order to watch films purchased from other countries, you just buy a multi-region DVD player... easy to get hold of over here. Even UK Amazon does multi-region machhines for between £20-£30 last time I looked. Or most reputable electrical goods shops will be able to reset the machines they sell on the sly... or just look for a "remote DVD hack" on the web and buy a machine accordingly.

The bad news is, it's a deleted film for now. Last time I looked on UK Amazon The Final Programme was going for about £60 for the Region 1 copy... however, you might try ebay for a copy as you're bound to get it much cheaper.

Hope this helps and really glad you liked my blog post. Please keep reading... I rely on people like yourself to maintain an interest and keep myself going!

All the best!NUTS4R2https://www.blogger.com/profile/08450069327397561514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2260387431722105524.post-33092579368723420882010-08-12T16:13:58.804+01:002010-08-12T16:13:58.804+01:00Fortunately, I managed to overcome apathy and drag...Fortunately, I managed to overcome apathy and dragged myself up to Babylon to see the 10th August 2010 showing at the BFI. This proved to be an excellent decision (note for future reference)and I unreservedly agree with this perceptive review. Mr Moorcock may be three-decades consistent in his disdain for the film and it must have been painful to see this, his creation, go out below-par in his estimation. That said however, I happen to believe this film is a marvellous rendering of the Final Programme, albeit not THE rendering of it, and it is absolutely packed with style. As is Moorcock's book: they just happen not to be one and the same thing. I thoroughly recommend both to those who've not yet had the pleasure.

I previously saw The Final Programme 01/10/1978 on TV and so a reviewing/re-evaluation was long overdue. Being keen to not leave it so long till the next time (I won't be here) can anyone advise how I might get a DVD copy viewable in England? Thanks in advance.jaw@telinco.co.uknoreply@blogger.com
