Celluloid Mistress
Been doing this blog for just under two and a half years. Thought I'd give you all a quick peak into my brain for my
500th Blog Post. It's a pen and ink drawing done on a layout pad and then scanned into photoshop for colouring. Click the image to "embiggen." ;-)
Hope you like and thanks to all and any readers who stop by... I really appreciate it.

Beautiful! Love the detailed and colorful patterning, reminds me a little bit of Alfred Woelfli (example) or Hundertwasser (example)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching 500!
Hi there.
ReplyDeleteWow. I'd never heard of those two (please excuse my ignorance) but now I know that Leon's address in Blade Runner comes from the second artist's name.
I'd definitely say that the Woelfli does remind me of a younger me stylistically... while, not so much the style but the strung together vignettes style of the second does remind me of some dim, distant stuff I used to do.
Good call.
Thanks so much for looking and commenting.
All the best to you.
Wow, totally amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations to your 500th post. I am in absolutely awe at the amount of quality posts you manage to write. Really well done! I am nowhere near 500 posts yet and I started in 2007.
Hi there Holger.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for the kind words.
As to the timescale... I think all that proves, maybe, is that I don't have a life. ;-)
Thanks for perusing and taking the time to comment.
Much appreciated.
Lovely. Sandy

Hi Nuts,
ReplyDeleteLooking at your illustration It is virtually how I imagine your mind to be.
Your style is rubber-stamped on the whole image, very cool.
There could be a market for your work.
Well done.
Jake
Hi Jake,
ReplyDeleteRemember when I used to paint stuff like this back in the 1980s?
Thanks for taking a look.

Hey there,
ReplyDeleteNah. It's not a wall hanger. I suspect my original black and white ink drawing is a folded or partially screwed up bit of paper somewhere... but the scanned file where I then added the colour as the next stage and tweaked some of the blacks will be saved as a file somewhere. I rarely throw anything away.
Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment, lady! x
